A Blue Ribbon School of Excellence
In September 2009, Epiphany of Our Lord School received the National Blue Ribbon School Award from the United States Department of Education. We were one of only three private schools in the state and just 50 nationwide to receive the award in 2009. The Blue Ribbon program selects award winners from exceptional schools that score in the top 10 percent on state assessments. Epiphany has met that qualification in many years and is committed to maintaining a superior level of academics consistent with our recent achievements. Schools are not permitted to reapply for this award for a period of five years.
A local newspaper article recently stated that “One of the best schools in the nation can be found right in Plymouth Meeting.” We are proud that our Epiphany students, teachers and staff have been recognized in this way.
Our Philosophy
Our primary mission is to teach Catholic doctrine and to impart the Gospel message of love of God, self and neighbor. We encourage each child to develop a meaningful relationship with God and others.
As Christian educators, we believe the academic and religious purpose of the school are interrelated. We strive to help our students survive in a world that is constantly changing. We enable them to acquire skills and knowledge. More importantly, we encourage attitudes, both social and moral, that emphasize Christian behavior.
Our Academic Aspirations
Our educational program allows for flexibility in grouping which fosters opportunity for reinforcement and growth. Selection of materials, methods and evaluation is designed to provide students with opportunities to experience success. The students are encouraged to make choices to develop a sense of responsibility through critical thinking, sound reasoning and decision making. Our hope is that this will further enhance a feeling of confidence and success in acquiring skills necessary to fulfill their roles in society.
We strive to create an atmosphere in which each child grows in understanding of Catholic religious beliefs and moral principles. As a result, this foundation is the beginning of a lifetime commitment to Christian values.
